1. Provide direct patient care: Perform tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with treatments as directed by the healthcare team.
2. Monitor patient status: Observe and document any changes in patient condition, report concerns to the healthcare team, and assist with implementing any necessary changes to the treatment plan.
3. Assist with procedures: Prepare equipment and supplies, assist with procedures such as dialysis and catheter care, and provide support to patients during treatments.
4. Maintain a safe and clean environment: Adhere to infection control protocols, maintain cleanliness and organization of patient care areas, and ensure proper disposal of medical waste.
5. Collaborate with healthcare team: Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and other team members to ensure coordinated and efficient care for patients.
6. Provide emotional support: Build rapport with patients and their families, listen to their concerns, and provide comfort and reassurance during difficult times.
7. Educate patients: Provide information and education to patients and their families regarding kidney disease, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
8. Document and maintain records: Accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and any changes in condition in accordance with policies and procedures.
9. Adhere to policies and procedures: Follow all company policies and procedures, maintain patient confidentiality, and promote a culture of safety and compliance.
10. Continuously improve skills and knowledge: Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills, and stay up-to-date on best practices in kidney care.
