
Patient Care Technician

- Provide direct patient care: Perform tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with treatments as directed by the healthcare team.
- Monitor patient status: Observe and document any changes in patient condition, report concerns to the healthcare team, and assist with implementing any necessary changes to the treatment plan.
- Assist with procedures: Prepare equipment and supplies, assist with procedures such as dialysis and catheter care, and provide support to patients during treatments.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment: Adhere to infection control protocols, maintain cleanliness and organization of patient care areas, and ensure proper disposal of medical waste.
- Collaborate with healthcare team: Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and other team members to ensure coordinated and efficient care for patients.
- Provide emotional support: Build rapport with patients and their families, listen to their concerns, and provide comfort and reassurance during difficult times.
- Educate patients: Provide information and education to patients and their families regarding kidney disease, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
- Document and maintain records: Accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and any changes in condition in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Adhere to policies and procedures: Follow all company policies and procedures, maintain patient confidentiality, and promote a culture of safety and compliance.
- Continuously improve skills and knowledge: Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills, and stay up-to-date on best practices in kidney care.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Patient Care Technician Should Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Ged To Be Considered For The Job.
Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Or Equivalent Certification: A Patient Care Technician Should Have A Valid Cna License Or Equivalent Certification To Demonstrate Their Knowledge And Skills In Patient Care.
Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: A Patient Care Technician Should Have A Valid Bls Certification To Provide Basic Life Support In Case Of Emergency Situations.
Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Such As A Hospital Or Nursing Home, Is Preferred For A Patient Care Technician Position.
Knowledge Of Dialysis Procedures And Equipment: Davita Kidney Care Specializes In Dialysis Treatment, So A Patient Care Technician Should Have Knowledge Of Dialysis Procedures And Equipment To Provide Quality Care To Patients.
