- Conduct dialysis treatments: Perform dialysis treatments on patients in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
- Monitor patient status: Monitor patients during dialysis treatments, assessing vital signs and making necessary adjustments to treatment as needed.
- Maintain equipment: Ensure dialysis machines and equipment are functioning properly and perform routine maintenance and cleaning as necessary.
- Document patient information: Accurately record patient information, including vital signs, treatment details, and any changes or complications during treatment.
- Educate patients: Educate patients and their families about kidney disease, dialysis treatments, and self-care techniques to help improve their overall health and well-being.
- Collaborate with healthcare team: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients.
- Adhere to safety protocols: Follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for patients and staff.
- Maintain inventory: Keep track of inventory levels for necessary supplies and equipment and report any shortages or issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Support patient needs: Assist patients with any needs or concerns they may have during their time in the dialysis unit.
- Attend trainings and meetings: Attend trainings and meetings to stay current on advancements in dialysis technology and protocols, as well as participate in team meetings to discuss patient care and make suggestions for improvement.
Completion Of A Certified Dialysis Technician Training Program Or Equivalent Education In A Related Field.
Valid Certification As A Dialysis Technician From A Recognized Organization Such As The National Nephrology Certification Organization (Nnco) Or The Board Of Nephrology Examiners Nursing And Technology (Bonent).
Experience Working In A Dialysis Setting, Preferably With Patients Undergoing Hemodialysis Treatment.
Strong Understanding Of Dialysis Equipment, Procedures, And Safety Protocols.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Healthcare Professionals, And Other Team Members.
