  1. Accurately and consistently document patient care in accordance with established guidelines and regulations.
  2. Collaborate with healthcare providers to identify and address any gaps in documentation.
  3. Monitor and analyze clinical documentation to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for process changes.
  4. Ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations to maximize reimbursement for the organization.
  5. Educate and train healthcare providers on effective documentation practices and standards.
  6. Serve as a liaison between clinical and administrative teams to facilitate efficient and accurate documentation.
  7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to clinical documentation.
  8. Identify and address potential documentation errors or discrepancies to prevent billing and coding delays.
  9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance documentation processes and patient outcomes.
  10. Communicate effectively with patients and their families to gather necessary information for documentation.
  11. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  12. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and optimize documentation practices.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree: A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field Is Required For This Role. This Demonstrates A High Level Of Education And Specialized Knowledge In The Healthcare Field.

  • Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Certification: This Certification Shows A Strong Understanding Of Coding Principles And Guidelines, Which Is Essential For Accurate And Thorough Clinical Documentation.

  • Knowledge Of Regulatory Guidelines: Familiarity With Healthcare Regulations And Guidelines, Such As Medicare And Medicaid Documentation Requirements, Is Crucial For Ensuring Compliance And Accuracy In Clinical Documentation.

  • Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Excellent Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, Are Essential For A Clinical Documentation Improvement Advanced Practice Provider. This Role Involves Working Closely With Physicians, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Professionals To Improve Documentation Processes And Ensure Accurate Patient Records.
