
Health, Safety and Environmental Technician

- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential health, safety, and environmental hazards in the workplace.
- Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental damage.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Provide training and education to employees on safety procedures and best practices.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and maintain emergency response plans.
- Investigate and report on incidents, accidents, and near misses, and make recommendations for corrective actions.
- Monitor and track safety data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices for health, safety, and environmental management.
- Communicate safety and environmental policies and procedures to all employees and ensure understanding and compliance.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and participate in audits and inspections.
- Facilitate safety committee meetings and lead safety initiatives and campaigns.
- Maintain all necessary documentation and records related to health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Conduct regular safety and environmental training for new hires and employees in high-risk roles.
- Continuously review and improve safety and environmental processes to ensure the highest levels of effectiveness and efficiency.
Knowledge Of Health, Safety And Environmental Regulations: A Qualified Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Local, State, And Federal Regulations Related To Health, Safety And Environmental Practices.
Technical Skills: Proficiency In Conducting Risk Assessments, Creating Safety Plans, And Implementing Environmental Management Systems Is Essential For This Role. Candidates Should Also Have Experience With Data Analysis And Reporting.
Communication And Training Skills: Effective Communication And Training Skills Are Necessary For This Role. The Candidate Should Be Able To Communicate Safety And Environmental Policies To Employees And Conduct Training Sessions To Ensure Compliance.
Experience In Hazard Identification And Risk Management: The Candidate Should Have Experience In Identifying Potential Hazards In The Workplace And Implementing Appropriate Risk Management Strategies To Prevent Accidents And Injuries.
Education And Certification: A Bachelor's Degree In Occupational Health And Safety, Environmental Science, Or A Related Field Is Preferred For This Role. Additionally, Certifications Such As Certified Safety Professional (Csp) Or Occupational Health And Safety Technologist (Ohst) Would Be Beneficial.
