- Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines and related technologies, following company and industry guidelines.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and efficiency in all repairs and troubleshooting tasks.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and others.
- Collaborate with team members and managers to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and software to accurately diagnose and repair engine malfunctions.
- Communicate effectively with customers, providing updates on repairs and addressing any concerns or questions.
- Keep accurate records of all repairs, including parts used and time spent, for billing and warranty purposes.
- Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and changes in technology, attending training and certification programs as necessary.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to timekeeping, attendance, and dress code.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts, making suggestions for process and efficiency improvements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Adhere to all Cummins safety and quality standards, ensuring all repairs are completed to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence, representing the company in a professional and positive manner at all times.
- Work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and handling a high volume of repairs.
- Take on additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn new skills.
Technical Expertise In Diesel Engines And Related Systems: A Diesel Technician At Cummins Must Have A Deep Understanding Of Diesel Engine Technology And Be Able To Diagnose And Repair Issues With Various Engine Components Such As Fuel Systems, Electrical Systems, And Emissions Systems.
Relevant Education And Certifications: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required For This Role, Along With Technical Training In Diesel Technology And/Or A Relevant Certification From A Recognized Institution.
Experience With Cummins Engines And Products: Familiarity With Cummins Engines And Products Is Highly Desirable For This Position, As It Will Ensure A Smoother Transition Into The Role And Allow The Technician To Quickly Become Proficient In Their Job Duties.
Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team: As A Diesel Technician, The Individual Must Be Able To Work Independently And Take Initiative In Problem-Solving, But Also Be Able To Work Collaboratively With Other Team Members To Complete Tasks Efficiently.
Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills: A Diesel Technician Must Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Communicate With Customers, Colleagues, And Other Stakeholders. They Should Also Possess Strong Customer Service Skills To Ensure A Positive Experience For All Customers.
