1. Operate and oversee the movement of freight trains in a safe and efficient manner, following all company, industry, and government regulations.
2. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trains and equipment to ensure they are in proper working condition.
3. Communicate and coordinate with other train crew members, dispatchers, and other departments to ensure smooth and timely operations.
4. Monitor and control train speed, direction, and braking using various controls and instruments.
5. Keep accurate records of train movement, including arrival and departure times and any incidents or delays.
6. Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel and take necessary action to address them.
7. Assist in the loading and unloading of freight, and ensure that all cargo is properly secured.
8. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including train cab and work areas.
9. Continuously monitor and follow all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment.
10. Attend and participate in training and meetings as required to stay current on company policies, procedures, and regulations.
11. Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and lead by example in promoting a safe work culture.
12. Provide exceptional customer service to clients and respond promptly to any customer inquiries or concerns.
13. Contribute to the overall success and growth of the company by identifying and recommending ways to improve operations and efficiency.
14. Maintain a valid driver's license and adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating company vehicles.
15. Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
