- Develop and implement strategies to obtain necessary permits for wireless infrastructure projects.
- Oversee a team of permitting specialists and provide guidance and support to ensure efficient and timely permit acquisition.
- Review and assess project plans and identify potential permit challenges or issues.
- Build and maintain relationships with local government agencies, including planning boards and zoning committees.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as engineering, construction, and legal to ensure compliance with all permitting requirements.
- Monitor and track permit application timelines and ensure all necessary documentation is submitted in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess permit progress and identify any potential roadblocks.
- Stay updated on changes to local, state, and federal regulations related to permitting and ensure compliance.
- Communicate with project stakeholders, including clients and contractors, regarding the status of permits and any potential delays or issues.
- Prepare and present reports to upper management on the status of permits and any potential risks or challenges.
- Develop and manage a budget for the permitting process, including tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the permitting process to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure all permitting activities are in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Train and mentor team members to ensure a high level of expertise and knowledge in the permitting process.
- Represent the company in meetings and hearings with local government officials and community members.
- Handle any disputes or issues related to permits and work to resolve them in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all permits and permit-related activities.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while overseeing permit related tasks.
- Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure a smooth and successful project completion.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to permitting and share knowledge with the team.
Knowledge Of Permitting Processes And Regulations: A Successful Manager - Permitting At Crown Castle International Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of Local, State, And Federal Regulations Related To Permitting For Telecommunications Infrastructure Projects. This Includes Knowledge Of Zoning, Land Use, Environmental Impact Assessments, And Other Relevant Laws And Policies.
Project Management Skills: The Manager - Permitting Will Be Responsible For Overseeing Multiple Projects At Once, And Therefore Must Have Strong Project Management Skills. This Includes The Ability To Create And Manage Project Timelines, Coordinate With Internal And External Stakeholders, And Effectively Communicate Project Status Updates.
Leadership Abilities: As A Manager, This Role Will Require Strong Leadership Skills To Effectively Manage A Team Of Permitting Coordinators And Other Staff. This Includes The Ability To Delegate Tasks, Provide Clear Direction And Guidance, And Motivate Team Members To Meet Project Goals And Deadlines.
Communication And Relationship Building: The Manager - Permitting Will Be The Main Point Of Contact For External Entities Such As Government Agencies, Landowners, And Community Members. Therefore, Strong Communication And Relationship Building Skills Are Essential For Success In This Role. This Includes The Ability To Effectively Negotiate And Resolve Conflicts.
Technical Knowledge: A Manager - Permitting Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Telecommunications Infrastructure And Technology. This Includes Knowledge Of Site Design, Construction Processes, And Equipment Installation. Additionally, Familiarity With Gis And Other Permitting Software Systems Is A Plus.
