In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and availability of our systems and infrastructure, while also contributing to the development and improvement of our operations platform.   1. Develop and maintain a robust and reliable operations platform for Costco Wholesale.
  2. Monitor and troubleshoot system and infrastructure issues to ensure high availability and performance.
  3. Work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and test new features and enhancements for the operations platform.
  4. Collaborate with software engineers and architects to identify and resolve system design flaws and performance bottlenecks.
  5. Conduct regular system audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies.
  6. Proactively identify areas for improvement and propose solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the operations platform.
  7. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve the operations platform.
  8. Provide technical support to other teams and departments to resolve system and infrastructure-related issues.
  9. Participate in on-call rotations to respond to critical system incidents.
  10. Document processes, procedures, and troubleshooting guides for the operations platform.
  11. Train and mentor junior engineers on best practices and standard operating procedures.
  12. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide updates on system status and progress on projects.
  13. Adhere to security protocols and ensure that all systems and infrastructure are secure and compliant.
  14. Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to integrate their services into the operations platform.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the management team.

Job Qualifications

  • Proficiency In Software Development And Coding: Sre And Operations Platform Engineers At Costco Wholesale Should Have A Strong Background In Software Development, With Experience In Languages Such As Java, Python, And Go. They Should Also Be Familiar With Software Development Methodologies And Tools, Such As Agile And Devops.

  • Experience With Cloud Computing And Infrastructure Automation: Costco Wholesale Relies Heavily On Cloud Services For Its Operations, So Candidates For These Roles Should Have Experience With Platforms Such As Aws And Azure. They Should Also Have Knowledge Of Infrastructure Automation Tools Like Terraform And Ansible.

  • Knowledge Of Monitoring And Alerting Systems: Sre And Operations Platform Engineers Are Responsible For Ensuring The Reliability And Performance Of Costco's Systems. Therefore, They Should Have Experience With Monitoring And Alerting Tools Like Prometheus, Grafana, And Splunk.

  • Strong Troubleshooting And Problem-Solving Skills: Costco's Systems Are Complex And Constantly Evolving, So Sre And Operations Platform Engineers Must Have Excellent Troubleshooting And Problem-Solving Abilities. They Should Be Able To Quickly Identify And Resolve Issues To Minimize Downtime And Maintain System Stability.

  • Familiarity With Containerization And Orchestration: Costco Uses Containerization And Orchestration Technologies Like Docker And Kubernetes To Manage Its Applications. Therefore, Candidates For These Roles Should Have A Good Understanding Of These Tools And How To Optimize Them For Production Environments.
