- Receive and record incoming merchandise accurately and in a timely manner.
- Verify the quantity and quality of merchandise received.
- Ensure all received items are properly tagged and labeled.
- Communicate with suppliers and other team members to resolve any discrepancies or issues with received merchandise.
- Maintain organized and efficient receiving area.
- Assist in unloading and sorting incoming shipments.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper distribution and storage of received merchandise.
- Keep accurate records of all received items and update inventory systems.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures while handling merchandise.
- Operate forklifts and other equipment to move and store merchandise.
- Assist in periodic inventory checks and audits.
- Provide excellent customer service to members by addressing any questions or concerns related to received merchandise.
- Train and mentor new receiving clerks as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Experience With Inventory Management And Receiving Procedures: A Successful Candidate For This Role Should Have Previous Experience In A Similar Role, With A Strong Understanding Of Inventory Management And Receiving Procedures. This Includes Knowledge Of Product Codes, Labeling, And Storage Methods.
Attention To Detail And Accuracy: As A Receiving Clerk, It Is Crucial To Have A High Level Of Attention To Detail And Accuracy To Ensure That All Incoming Products Are Properly Received, Checked, And Recorded. This Includes Checking For Damaged Or Incorrect Items, Verifying Quantities, And Ensuring Proper Storage.
Physical Stamina And Ability To Lift Heavy Objects: This Role Involves Physical Work, Including Lifting And Moving Heavy Boxes And Products. A Candidate Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Handle The Physical Demands Of The Job.
Strong Communication And Organizational Skills: The Receiving Clerk Will Work Closely With Other Team Members, As Well As Suppliers And Truck Drivers. Therefore, Strong Communication And Organizational Skills Are Essential To Ensure A Smooth Receiving Process And Timely Delivery Of Products.
