  1. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  2. Process and fill prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
  3. Assist pharmacists with inventory management and ordering of medications and supplies.
  4. Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  5. Answer customer inquiries and provide information about medications, insurance coverage, and other pharmacy services.
  6. Work closely with the pharmacy team to ensure timely and accurate processing of prescriptions.
  7. Communicate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve any issues or concerns.
  8. Educate customers on potential side effects and drug interactions of medications.
  9. Process payments and handle cash transactions accurately and securely.
  10. Follow all safety protocols and maintain confidentiality of customer information.
  11. Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay updated on new products and procedures.
  12. Collaborate with other departments within the store to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  13. Assist in maintaining proper storage and handling of medications according to state and federal regulations.
  14. Support the pharmacy team in achieving sales goals and promoting special offers and promotions.
  15. Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures to enhance customer satisfaction and efficiency.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For This Role Is A High School Diploma Or Ged.

  • Previous Retail Or Pharmacy Experience: Previous Experience In A Retail Or Pharmacy Setting Is Preferred, As It Demonstrates An Understanding Of Customer Service And Basic Knowledge Of Pharmaceutical Products.

  • Knowledge Of Pharmaceutical Products: A Strong Understanding Of Over-The-Counter And Prescription Medications, Including Their Uses And Potential Side Effects, Is Essential For A Pharmacy Sales Assistant.

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills: This Role Involves Interacting With Customers On A Daily Basis, So Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills Are Essential. The Ability To Empathize With And Assist Customers With Their Needs Is Important.

  • Attention To Detail: Accuracy Is Crucial In The Pharmacy Department, As Mistakes Can Have Serious Consequences. A Pharmacy Sales Assistant Must Have A Keen Attention To Detail To Ensure Prescriptions Are Filled Correctly And Inventory Is Managed Accurately.
