- Educate members on different lens options and help them make informed decisions.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and product knowledge to provide the best recommendations to members.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the dispensing area and inventory.
- Process member orders and payments accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Adhere to all Costco and departmental policies and procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing and resolving member concerns and inquiries.
- Maintain accurate and updated member records and documentation.
- Keep track of inventory levels and assist with ordering and restocking as needed.
- Stay informed of any changes in eyewear regulations and ensure compliance.
- Continuously strive to meet and exceed sales targets and goals.
- Train and mentor new opticians as needed.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities provided by Costco.
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor at all times.
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments and innovations.
- Represent Costco in a positive and professional manner at all times.
Certified Optician: A Valid License As An Optician From The State Board Of Opticianry Is Required For This Position.
Strong Knowledge Of Optics: A Thorough Understanding Of Optical Principles, Lens Design, And Frame Selection Is Necessary To Accurately Fulfill Customer Prescriptions.
Customer Service Skills: Excellent Communication Skills And The Ability To Provide Exceptional Customer Service Are Crucial For This Role, As Opticians Will Be Interacting With Customers Daily.
Sales Experience: Previous Experience In Sales, Particularly In The Optical Industry, Is Preferred. Opticians At Costco Wholesale Are Expected To Assist Customers With Frame And Lens Selection, As Well As Upsell Additional Products And Services.
Detail-Oriented: Opticians Must Be Detail-Oriented And Have A High Level Of Accuracy When Measuring And Fitting Lenses. They Must Also Be Able To Maintain Organized Records And Follow Proper Documentation Procedures.
