- Operate forklift to move, stack, and organize merchandise and pallets within the warehouse.
- Load and unload shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the process.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklift equipment and report any issues or malfunctions to management.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines while operating forklift, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area, including proper storage of merchandise and equipment.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members to prioritize tasks and complete them in a timely manner.
- Use forklift to assist in inventory counts and product audits.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding inventory levels, equipment needs, and any potential safety hazards.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations regarding forklift operation.
- Attend mandatory training sessions and continuously improve skills and knowledge related to forklift operations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by promptly responding to requests and inquiries from team members and customers.
- Assist in other warehouse duties as needed, such as loading and unloading trucks, restocking shelves, and maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Take appropriate measures to prevent damage to merchandise and equipment while operating forklift.
- Actively participate in maintaining a positive and collaborative work environment.
Valid Forklift Operator Certification: Costco Wholesale Requires All Forklift Operators To Hold A Current Certification From An Accredited Training Program. This Ensures That The Operator Has Been Trained In Safe And Efficient Forklift Operation.
Prior Forklift Operating Experience: Applicants For This Position Should Have Previous Experience Operating A Forklift, Preferably In A Warehouse Or Retail Environment. This Experience Demonstrates Their Knowledge Of Forklift Safety And Operation.
Physical Fitness: Forklift Operators At Costco Wholesale Must Be Physically Fit And Able To Lift And Move Heavy Objects. They Must Also Be Able To Stand For Long Periods Of Time And Work In A Physically Demanding Environment.
