Data Engineer

At Costco Wholesale, we’re looking for a talented and passionate Data Engineer to join our growing team. You’ll have the opportunity to work with our data scientists and analysts on the development and implementation of data engineering solutions.The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in data engineering and a passion for leveraging data-driven insights to improve our retail operations. We’re looking for an individual with strong communication and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to think strategically and solve complex problems.Required qualifications include:• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field• 5+ years of experience in data engineering• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or Java• Familiarity with ETL and data warehousing• Experience with BI tools (Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)• Knowledge of data engineering best practices and principlesWe look forward to hearing from you and learning more about your experience and how you can grow with us!

Responsibilities:

• Develop data engineering solutions in collaboration with data scientists and analysts • Leverage data-driven insights to improve retail operations • Write and maintain code in SQL, Python, and/or Java • Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes and data warehousing systems • Implement and manage BI tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, etc. • Monitor and optimize data engineering solutions and processes • Adhere to established data engineering best practices and principles • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure successful data engineering projects
