Wellness Center - Therapist Interns
Welcome to the Wellness Center at Concordia University Irvine! We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Therapist Interns. This is an exciting opportunity for students pursuing a career in counseling or therapy to gain hands-on experience and make a positive impact on the lives of our university community. As a Wellness Center Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with licensed therapists and provide valuable support to our students. - Provide counseling and therapy services to students in a supportive and compassionate manner.
- Collaborate with licensed therapists to develop treatment plans for students.
- Conduct intake assessments to understand students' mental health needs and concerns.
- Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions as needed.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records.
- Continuously develop and improve counseling and therapy skills through training and supervision.
- Assist in promoting mental health and wellness on campus through outreach events and programs.
- Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff to provide appropriate support and resources.
- Uphold ethical and professional standards in all interactions and activities.
- Attend regular team meetings and participate in case consultations.
- Keep up-to-date with current research and developments in the field of mental health.
- Create a safe and inclusive environment for students of all backgrounds.
- Adhere to all university policies and procedures.
- Continuously evaluate and assess the effectiveness of counseling and therapy services.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
Completion Of A Graduate-Level Degree Program In Counseling, Psychology, Or A Related Field From An Accredited University.
Demonstrated Knowledge And Understanding Of Various Therapeutic Techniques And Modalities.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Establish Rapport And Build Relationships With Clients.
Familiarity With Ethical And Legal Standards For Mental Health Professionals.
Willingness To Abide By The Mission And Values Of Concordia University Irvine, And Actively Participate In Ongoing Training And Supervision As Required By The Internship Program.
