Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as an Assistant, Associate, or Professor of Nursing, specializing in Mental Health, at our Rancho location within Concordia University Irvine. This position offers the opportunity to educate and mentor the next generation of nurses, while also contributing to the advancement of the field of mental health nursing.   1. Teach Courses: The primary responsibility of this position is to teach courses related to mental health nursing at the assistant, associate, or professor level. This includes developing lesson plans, delivering lectures, facilitating class discussions, and evaluating student performance.
  2. Mentor Students: As a faculty member, the individual will be responsible for providing guidance and mentorship to students in the mental health nursing program. This may include advising students on academic and career goals, assisting with research projects, and providing support for clinical experiences.
  3. Curriculum Development: The candidate will also be expected to contribute to the development and improvement of the mental health nursing curriculum. This may involve reviewing and updating course materials, incorporating new research and trends in the field, and collaborating with other faculty members.
  4. Clinical Experience: The individual will be expected to have a strong clinical background in mental health nursing and may be required to maintain their own clinical practice. They will also be responsible for supervising and evaluating students during their clinical rotations.
  5. Research and Scholarship: The candidate will be expected to engage in scholarly activities, such as conducting research, publishing articles, and presenting at conferences, in order to contribute to the advancement of mental health nursing.
  6. Professional Development: As a representative of the university, the individual will be expected to participate in professional development activities to stay current in the field of mental health nursing and to continuously improve their teaching and mentorship skills.
  7. Service: The candidate will also be expected to contribute to the university and the community through service activities. This may include serving on committees, participating in community outreach programs, and representing the university at professional events.
  8. Admissions and Recruitment: The individual may also be involved in the admissions and recruitment process for the mental health nursing program. This may include reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and participating in recruitment events.
  9. Faculty Collaboration: The candidate will be expected to collaborate with other faculty members within the nursing department and across other disciplines to create a comprehensive and well-rounded

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Nursing, With A Specialization In Mental Health.

  • Active And Unrestricted Rn License In The State Of California.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Clinical Experience In A Mental Health Setting.

  • Previous Teaching Experience At The Collegiate Level, Preferably In Mental Health Nursing.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With A Passion For Mentoring And Developing Nursing Students.
