Principal Engineer - Product Evaluation Testing

Executes physical and environmental testing of hardware (cable modems, set top boxes, amplifiers, optical nodes, RF signal splitters, optical components) for deployment into the Comcast network. Interfaces with Network Engineering to maintain the integrity of the test bed area. Tests and certifies to industry standards from the SCTE, CableLabs, IEEE, MIL, Telcordia, ASTM, IEC. Research new test methodologies to support the business. Set up new test environments, automate test environment using tools such as LabView, document test environment and method, and train others in the test method. Maintains consistent records and documentation of all tests and certifications. Keeps the appropriate people informed and aware of the status and progress of work activities and business issue.
