- Develop and implement performance and capacity management strategies for mainframe systems to meet the organization's operational needs.
- Monitor and analyze mainframe system performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to optimize performance.
- Conduct regular capacity planning and forecasting to ensure that mainframe systems can support current and future business demands.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve performance and capacity issues, ensuring minimal impact on business operations.
- Lead the design and implementation of new mainframe systems and upgrades, ensuring optimal performance and capacity.
- Develop and maintain performance and capacity management documentation, including policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in mainframe technology, and make recommendations for improvements to current systems.
- Provide regular reports and presentations to management on mainframe system performance and capacity, including recommendations for improvements.
- Conduct performance and capacity testing to simulate real-world scenarios and identify potential issues before they arise.
- Train and mentor junior team members on performance and capacity management best practices.
Extensive Experience In Mainframe Performance And Capacity Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 5-7 Years Of Hands-On Experience In Managing Mainframe Systems And Optimizing Their Performance And Capacity. They Should Be Well-Versed In Tools And Techniques For Monitoring, Analyzing, And Improving Mainframe Performance.
Strong Knowledge Of Mainframe Technologies And Architectures: A Deep Understanding Of Mainframe Hardware, Software, And Networking Is Essential For This Role. The Candidate Should Also Have Knowledge Of Mainframe Virtualization, Storage Management, And Disaster Recovery Strategies.
Proficiency In Performance Analysis And Tuning: The Main Responsibility Of A Mainframe Performance And Capacity Manager Is To Identify Bottlenecks And Inefficiencies In Mainframe Systems And Take Corrective Actions. The Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Analyzing Performance Data, Diagnosing Issues, And Implementing Solutions To Improve Performance.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: This Role Involves Collaborating With Various Teams, Including Application Developers, System Administrators, And Business Stakeholders.
