Faculty Counselor
Counselors will be assigned to support students in Transitional Studies and related pre-college pathways and will provide support through individual advising as well as group advising in the classroom. Provide counseling and brief intervention for students experiencing issues affecting career and educational achievement, and refer to appropriate community resources as necessary. Serve as a point of contact for instructors in assigned programs regarding follow up for students on academic warning, satisfactory academic progress. Provide workshops, seminars, and outreach activities as needed to support the college mission. Assist with college new student orientation activities.
A minimum of two years of experience advising/counseling adult population.
Experience working with people from various cultures and socio-economic backgrounds.
Experience teaching and/or giving presentations/workshops preferred
