  4. Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
  5. Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure efficient operation of equipment.
  6. Collaborate with other team members and departments to coordinate work and ensure smooth operation of systems.
  7. Respond to emergency situations and perform repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
  8. Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  9. Stay updated on industry standards and technologies related to water and wastewater systems.
  10. Provide excellent customer service to residents and businesses by addressing their concerns and resolving issues related to the systems.
  11. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  12. Assist in training and mentoring new mechanics as needed.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Education Is Required For The Position Of Utilities Mechanic At City Of Ventura. This Ensures That The Applicant Has A Basic Understanding Of Math And Science, Which Is Essential For This Job.

  • Technical Training Or Certification: Applicants Must Have Completed A Technical Training Program Or Hold A Relevant Certification In Mechanical Or Electrical Engineering, Plumbing Or A Related Field. This Ensures That The Individual Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform The Duties Of A Utilities Mechanic.
