- Respond to emergency calls and provide immediate medical care to those in need.
- Operate and maintain firefighting and medical equipment.

Minimum Education And Certification Requirements: Applicants Must Have A High School Diploma Or Ged, As Well As A Valid Paramedic Certification From An Accredited Institution. They Must Also Hold A Valid California State Firefighter I Certification.
Physical Fitness And Agility: Firefighter-Paramedics Must Pass A Rigorous Physical Exam And Demonstrate Physical Fitness And Agility In Order To Handle The Strenuous Tasks Required Of The Job, Such As Carrying Heavy Equipment And Performing Rescues In Hazardous Environments.
Emergency Medical Services Experience: Candidates Must Have A Minimum Of Two Years Of Experience Working In An Emergency Medical Services Role, Preferably As A Paramedic. This Experience Should Include Responding To Emergency Calls, Performing Medical Assessments, And Administering Treatment.
Firefighting And Rescue Experience: A Minimum Of One Year Of Experience In A Firefighting Or Rescue Role Is Required. This Experience Should Include Knowledge Of Fire Suppression Techniques, Vehicle Extrication, And Hazardous Material Response.
Communication Skills: Strong Communication Skills Are Essential For A Firefighter-Paramedic, As They Will Be Required To Communicate With Team Members, Patients, And Their Families In High-Stress Situations. Applicants Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively And Efficiently In Both Written And Verbal Forms.
