  1. Assist the Community Development Director in overseeing and managing all aspects of community development within the City of Ventura.
  2. Develop and implement strategic plans for sustainable and equitable development in the city.
  3. Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to identify and address community development needs and issues.
  4. Conduct thorough research and analysis to inform decision-making and development strategies.
  5. Review and provide recommendations on proposed development projects to ensure compliance with city regulations and policies.
  6. Oversee the preparation and submission of development plans, permits, and other necessary documents.
  7. Monitor and track progress of development projects to ensure timely completion and adherence to regulations.
  8. Communicate and collaborate with the public, developers, and other stakeholders to address concerns and promote community engagement in development processes.
  9. Stay informed of current and emerging trends, laws, and regulations related to community development.
  10. Train, mentor, and supervise subordinate staff in carrying out their duties and responsibilities.
  11. Represent the city at meetings, conferences, and other events related to community development.
  12. Assist in the preparation and administration of the community development department's budget.
  13. Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on community development activities.
  14. Serve as a liaison between the city and other agencies, organizations, and individuals involved in community development.
  15. Uphold the city's values and promote a positive image of the community and its development initiatives.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Urban Planning, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.

  • At Least 3 Years Of Experience In Community Development, Preferably In A Municipal Government Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Local, State, And Federal Laws And Regulations Related To Community Development And Land Use.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Various Stakeholders, Including Residents, Businesses, And Government Officials.

  • Experience In Project Management, Including Budgeting, Planning, And Implementation.
