
Water Quality Laboratory Manager

As the Laboratory Manager, you will oversee all aspects of our water quality laboratory, including managing staff, maintaining equipment, and implementing quality control procedures. - Manage and oversee daily operations of the water quality laboratory, including scheduling, staffing, and coordinating with other departments.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to water quality and laboratory operations.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable testing results.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure proper functioning and accuracy.
- Train and supervise laboratory staff, including setting performance goals, providing feedback, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Conduct regular audits of laboratory procedures and processes to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with other departments to address any water quality issues or concerns and develop strategies for improvement.
- Keep up-to-date on industry advancements and best practices in water quality testing and make recommendations for implementing new technologies or methods.
- Prepare and maintain records and reports to document laboratory processes and testing results.
- Maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment, including proper storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth.
- Represent the water quality laboratory and the City of Tucson in a professional manner at community events and meetings.
Bachelor's Degree In Chemistry, Environmental Science, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Water Quality Laboratory Setting.
Knowledge Of Federal And State Regulations Related To Water Quality Testing And Analysis.
Experience Managing A Team Of Laboratory Technicians And Analysts.
Strong Communication And Organizational Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Report And Present Data To Stakeholders.
