
Historic Preservation Lead Planner

- Oversee and manage all historic preservation projects within the City of Tucson.
- Collaborate with community stakeholders and government officials to ensure the preservation of the city's cultural heritage.
- Develop and implement strategies and policies for the preservation of historic sites and buildings.
- Conduct research and analysis on historic properties and provide recommendations for preservation efforts.
- Review and evaluate development proposals to ensure compliance with historic preservation regulations.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on historic preservation and provide guidance to other team members.
- Coordinate with other city departments and agencies to ensure consistency in preservation efforts.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local historic preservation organizations and advocate for historic preservation initiatives.
- Prepare and present reports, proposals, and recommendations to city officials and community groups.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff members on historic preservation practices and procedures.
- Stay updated on current trends and best practices in historic preservation and incorporate them into city policies and projects.
- Manage budgets and resources for historic preservation projects.
- Conduct community outreach and education initiatives to raise awareness of the importance of historic preservation.
- Collaborate with the City's Planning Commission and Historic Preservation Commission to review and approve preservation projects.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to historic preservation.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Historic Preservation, Architecture, Urban Planning, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Historic Preservation Planning, Preferably In A Municipal Or Government Setting.
Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Laws And Regulations Related To Historic Preservation And Cultural Resource Management.
Experience In Project Management And Coordinating With Various Stakeholders Such As Community Groups, Government Agencies, And Preservation Organizations.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Present Information And Collaborate With Diverse Groups.
