As a CISO, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to safeguard our information systems and data from cyber threats. - Develop and implement comprehensive information security policies, procedures, and guidelines to protect the City of Tucson's digital assets.
- Lead and manage a team of information security professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a strong and effective security posture.
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability testing to identify potential threats and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies to continuously improve the city's security defenses.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure security measures are integrated into all systems and processes.
- Establish and maintain relationships with external security partners and vendors to enhance the city's security capabilities.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents, conducting investigations and implementing remediation measures as needed.
- Prepare and present regular reports on the state of the city's information security to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Develop and oversee disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the city's ability to respond to and recover from cyber attacks.
- Foster a culture of security awareness and promote best practices among all employees.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to information security.
- Manage the information security budget and evaluate and recommend new security technologies and tools.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all information security matters within the city.
Extensive Knowledge And Experience In Information Security: A Chief Information Security Officer (Ciso) At The City Of Tucson Should Have A Deep Understanding Of All Aspects Of Information Security, Including Risk Assessment, Threat Management, Incident Response, And Regulatory Compliance.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills: As The Head Of The Information Security Department, The Ciso Should Possess Excellent Leadership Skills To Effectively Manage And Motivate Their Team. They Should Also Have Strong Communication Skills To Collaborate With Other Departments And Communicate Complex Security Concepts To Non-Technical Stakeholders.
Experience In Developing And Implementing Security Strategies: The Ciso Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Developing And Implementing Successful Information Security Strategies. This Includes Identifying And Prioritizing Security Risks, Implementing Security Controls, And Regularly Reviewing And Updating The Strategy To Adapt To Changing Threats.
Knowledge Of Relevant Laws And Regulations: The City Of Tucson Operates Within A Specific Legal And Regulatory Framework, And The Ciso Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of These Laws And Regulations. This Includes Industry-Specific Regulations Such As Hipaa Or Pci-Dss, As Well As State And Federal Laws Related To Data Protection And Privacy.
Continuous Learning And Staying Up-To-Date With Industry Trends: Information Security Is A Constantly Evolving Field, And The Ciso Should Demonstrate A Commitment To Continuous Learning And Staying Up-To-Date With The Latest Industry Trends, Best Practices, And Emerging Threats. This May Include Obtaining Relevant Certifications And Attending Industry Conferences And Events.
