- Perform regular maintenance tasks on buildings and facilities, such as repairing and replacing damaged fixtures, painting walls, and fixing minor electrical and plumbing issues.
- Inspect buildings and identify potential safety hazards, making necessary repairs to ensure a safe environment for residents and employees.
- Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely and efficient manner.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance performed and materials used, and report any major issues or concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and storage rooms.
- Operate and maintain various tools and equipment necessary for building maintenance, such as power tools, hand tools, and cleaning equipment.
- Assist with snow and ice removal during inclement weather.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors to coordinate tasks and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations while performing maintenance duties.
- Continuously strive to improve the overall appearance and functionality of buildings and facilities.
- Attend training and development programs as required to maintain and improve job skills.
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a positive attitude while representing the City of Tucson.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: The City Of Tucson Requires Applicants To Have Completed Their High School Education Or Have An Equivalent Degree.
Experience In Building Maintenance: Candidates Should Have Previous Experience In Building Maintenance, Including Knowledge Of Plumbing, Electrical, And Hvac Systems.
Knowledge Of Safety Procedures: A Building Maintenance Worker Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Safety Protocols And Be Able To Identify Potential Hazards In The Workplace.
Physical Ability: This Position Requires Candidates To Have The Physical Ability To Lift Heavy Objects, Climb Ladders, And Perform Other Physically Demanding Tasks.
