
Assistant Public Defender

- Provide legal representation to indigent clients in criminal cases.
- Conduct legal research and stay up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations.

- Demonstrate a strong commitment to social justice and promoting diversity and inclusivity.
- Support the mission and values of the City of Tucson and the Public Defender's office.
- Meet deadlines and manage a high-volume caseload effectively.
- Continuously strive to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.
- Uphold confidentiality and maintain sensitivity to the needs and situations of clients.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with community organizations and resources to provide additional support and resources for clients.
- Serve as a positive representative of the City of Tucson and the Public Defender's office in all interactions.
- Continuously evaluate and improve upon legal strategies and processes to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients.
Juris Doctor (J.d.) Degree From An Accredited Law School.
Admission To The Arizona State Bar.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Practicing Criminal Law, Preferably As A Public Defender.
Knowledge Of Criminal Law And Court Procedures, Including Trial Experience.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Clients, Judges, And Other Legal Professionals.
