  1. Represent the city in criminal cases and uphold the law in accordance with the city's values and mission.
  2. Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents, including complaints, motions, and briefs.
  3. Evaluate evidence and witness statements to build strong cases for prosecution.
  4. Work closely with law enforcement agencies and other city departments to gather information and evidence for cases.
  5. Attend court hearings and trials to present evidence and arguments.
  6. Negotiate plea agreements with defendants and their attorneys.
  7. Communicate effectively with victims, witnesses, and other stakeholders throughout the legal process.
  8. Stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and legal procedures.
  9. Collaborate with other members of the legal team, including other city prosecutors and outside counsel.
  10. Maintain accurate and organized case files and records.
  11. Participate in trainings and professional development opportunities to enhance legal knowledge and skills.
  12. Handle a high-volume caseload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  13. Uphold ethical standards and maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
  14. Represent the city in a professional manner and maintain positive relationships with community members and stakeholders.
  15. Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures within the city's legal system.

Job Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (Jd) Degree From An Accredited Law School.

  • Active Membership In Good Standing With The State Bar Of Arizona.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Practicing Criminal Law.

  • Proficiency In Legal Research, Writing, And Oral Advocacy.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Laws And Regulations Related To Criminal Prosecution.
