  1. Oversee the daily operations of the pool facilities, including scheduling staff, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and ensuring all equipment is in good working condition.
  2. Provide leadership and direction to the lifeguard and pool staff, including training, coaching, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  3. Assist in the hiring and onboarding process for lifeguards and other pool staff.
  4. Monitor pool usage and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines.
  5. Conduct regular inspections of the pool and its facilities to identify and address any maintenance or safety concerns.
  6. Respond to and resolve any customer complaints or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  7. Assist in the development and implementation of programs and events at the pool, such as swim lessons, water aerobics, and special events.
  8. Maintain accurate records and reports related to pool operations, including attendance, incidents, and expenses.
  9. Collaborate with other city departments and community organizations to promote the pool facilities and engage the community in aquatic activities.
  10. Stay current on industry trends and best practices in pool management and incorporate them into the operation of the pool facilities.

Job Qualifications
  • Lifeguard Certification: The Assistant Pool Manager Must Have A Current And Valid Lifeguard Certification From A Recognized Organization, Such As The American Red Cross Or Ymca.

  • Pool Operations Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Pool Setting, Preferably In A Supervisory Or Management Role. This Experience Should Include Knowledge Of Pool Maintenance, Safety Protocols, And Customer Service.

  • First Aid And Cpr Certification: Along With A Lifeguard Certification, The Assistant Pool Manager Should Also Have Current First Aid And Cpr Certifications. This Is Essential For Responding To Emergencies And Ensuring The Safety Of Pool Patrons.

  • Strong Leadership Skills: The Assistant Pool Manager Will Be Responsible For Overseeing A Team Of Lifeguards And Other Pool Staff. Therefore, They Should Possess Strong Leadership Skills, Including The Ability To Delegate Tasks, Provide Direction And Guidance, And Resolve Conflicts.

  • Knowledge Of Pool Regulations And Policies: The City Of Troy Has Specific Regulations And Policies In Place For Pool Operations. The Assistant Pool Manager Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of These Rules And Be Able To Enforce Them Effectively. This Includes Knowledge Of Pool Safety Standards, Sanitation Guidelines, And Emergency Procedures.
