- Maintain and upkeep the golf courses in the City of Sunnyvale to ensure they are in top condition for residents and visitors.
- Operate and maintain various golf course equipment, such as mowers, trimmers, and hand tools.
- Perform routine tasks such as mowing, edging, and weeding to maintain the appearance of the golf courses.
- Assist with setting up and maintaining the golf course for tournaments and special events.
- Monitor and report any issues or concerns regarding course conditions to management.
- Ensure the safety of all equipment and follow proper safety procedures at all times.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while interacting with golfers and visitors.
- Assist with general landscaping duties, such as planting, watering, and fertilizing.
- Keep an organized and clean work area, including the maintenance shop and storage areas.
- Follow all city and state regulations and guidelines related to golf course maintenance.
- Train and mentor new employees or volunteers as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Experience With Golf Course Maintenance: A Qualified Candidate For This Position Should Have Experience Working In A Golf Course Setting And Be Familiar With The Maintenance Tasks Involved, Such As Mowing, Fertilizing, And Irrigation.
Knowledge Of Groundskeeping Equipment: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Knowledge Of And Experience Operating Various Groundskeeping Equipment, Such As Mowers, Trimmers, And Hand Tools.
Physical Fitness And Endurance: This Job Requires Physical Labor And The Ability To Work Outdoors In Various Weather Conditions. Candidates Should Possess The Physical Fitness And Endurance Necessary To Perform The Required Tasks.
Attention To Detail: A Successful Groundsworker Must Be Detail-Oriented And Have A Keen Eye For Spotting And Addressing Any Issues On The Golf Course, Such As Damaged Turf Or Equipment.
Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team: This Job May Involve Working Independently On Certain Tasks, As Well As Collaborating With Other Groundsworkers And Golf Course Staff. Candidates Should Be Able To Work Effectively Both Independently And As Part Of A Team.
