- Serve as a first responder to emergency situations, including but not limited to fires, accidents, and criminal activities.
- Enforce all applicable laws and regulations in the City of Sunnyvale.
- Protect the safety and well-being of the community through proactive patrolling and crime prevention efforts.
- Conduct thorough investigations and collect evidence for criminal cases.
- Respond to and resolve various public safety concerns and complaints.
- Communicate effectively with fellow officers, emergency personnel, and community members.
- Provide assistance to citizens in need and provide guidance on crime prevention and safety measures.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to all incidents and activities.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on current laws, techniques, and procedures.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and emergency services to ensure effective response and coordination during emergencies.
- Follow all safety protocols and utilize proper equipment while performing duties.
- Uphold high ethical standards and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
- Represent the City of Sunnyvale with integrity and professionalism.
- Serve as a positive role model for the community.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by superiors.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Public Safety Officer Or Equivalent Position In A Law Enforcement Agency, Fire Department, Or Emergency Medical Services (Ems) Agency.
Possession Of A Valid California Class C Driver's License And A Clean Driving Record.
Completion Of A Recognized Police Or Fire Academy And Possession Of A Basic Certificate From The California Commission On Peace Officer Standards And Training (Post) Or A Firefighter I Certificate From The California State Fire Marshal.
Current Certification In Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (Cpr) And Basic First Aid.
Ability To Pass A Thorough Background Investigation, Including A Polygraph Examination, Psychological Evaluation, And Medical Examination.
