1. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, pruning, and weeding in parks, public spaces, and facilities.
2. Operate and maintain various landscaping equipment and tools.
3. Inspect and report any issues or hazards in outdoor areas, such as broken equipment or safety concerns.
4. Plant, water, and fertilize flowers, shrubs, and trees to maintain a vibrant and attractive landscape.
5. Assist in the installation and maintenance of irrigation systems.
6. Clean and maintain sidewalks, paths, and other outdoor surfaces.
7. Remove litter and debris from outdoor areas.
8. Work collaboratively with other groundsworkers and supervisors to complete daily tasks and projects.
9. Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and the public.
10. Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
11. Prioritize and manage tasks effectively to meet deadlines and maintain a well-kept environment.
12. Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and provide suggestions to enhance the appearance of outdoor spaces.
13. Provide friendly and helpful customer service to residents and visitors of the City of Sunnyvale.
14. Adhere to all city policies, procedures, and regulations.
15. Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
16. Attend training and meetings as required.
