Job Description

The City of Sunnyvale is seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented individual to join our team as an Assistant Pool Manager. In this role, you will have the opportunity to assist in the management and operation of our community pools, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all patrons.   1. Oversee daily operations of community pools, including opening and closing procedures, maintenance, and cleanliness.
  2. Supervise pool staff, including lifeguards, swim instructors, and cashiers, and provide guidance and support as needed.
  3. Ensure the safety of all pool patrons by enforcing rules and regulations, conducting regular safety checks, and responding to emergencies.
  4. Assist in developing and implementing training programs for pool staff to maintain high levels of customer service and safety.
  5. Communicate effectively with patrons, staff, and management to address any concerns or issues in a timely and professional manner.
  6. Maintain accurate records of pool usage, attendance, and incident reports.
  7. Collaborate with other departments and community organizations to plan and coordinate special events and programs at the pool.
  8. Monitor and manage pool budget, including purchasing supplies and equipment, and ensuring cost-effective operations.
  9. Conduct regular inspections of pool facilities to identify any maintenance or safety concerns and report them to the appropriate parties.
  10. Continuously seek ways to improve pool operations and customer experience, and implement changes as approved by management.

Job Qualifications
  • Experience In Pool Operations And Management: Candidates Should Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience In Pool Operations, Including Knowledge Of Water Chemistry, Safety Protocols, And Pool Maintenance.

  • Lifeguard Certification: A Valid Lifeguard Certification From A Recognized Organization Such As The American Red Cross Is Required For This Position. Candidates Should Also Have Up-To-Date Cpr And First Aid Certifications.

  • Strong Leadership Skills: The Assistant Pool Manager Will Be Responsible For Supervising And Training A Team Of Lifeguards And Other Pool Staff. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Strong Leadership Skills And The Ability To Effectively Communicate And Delegate Tasks.

  • Knowledge Of Safety Regulations: The Assistant Pool Manager Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of All Safety Regulations And Guidelines Related To Pool Operations. This Includes Knowledge Of Emergency Procedures, Pool Rules, And Proper Use Of Equipment.

  • Customer Service Experience: The City Of Sunnyvale Values Excellent Customer Service And Candidates Should Have Previous Experience In A Customer-Facing Role. This Includes The Ability To Handle Complaints And Resolve Conflicts In A Professional And Timely Manner.
