Urban Designer

We are looking for an Urban Designer to join our team here at the City of St. Louis. Our ideal candidate will be a creative and experienced individual with an eye for detail and a passion for taking on complex projects. The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent communication skills and a commitment to developing creative solutions to improve the built environment of St. Louis.To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited university in urban design, architecture, landscape architecture, or a related field. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in urban design, with a proven track record in designing and implementing sustainable urban development projects. Knowledge of urban planning and design principles is also required.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop innovative designs to improve the built environment of St. Louis.
2. Research and analyze urban design and planning principles to inform projects.
3. Create sustainable urban development projects and take them from concept to completion.
4. Develop presentations and reports to communicate project progress to stakeholders.
5. Collaborate with other professionals across disciplines in the design process.
6. Ensure all projects are completed on-time and within budget.
7. Monitor and respond to changes in the urban design landscape.
8. Participate in public meetings and workshops to gather project feedback.
9. Stay up to date with best practices in urban design and development.
