Job Description

We're looking for an innovative and passionate Program Specialist - Recycling to join the City of St. Louis' team and help us achieve our sustainability goals! We strive to create a work environment that fosters creativity and hard work, and are seeking an individual who shares that same desire. The Program Specialist – Recycling will be responsible for creating and managing a comprehensive recycling program for our city.The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Environmental Science or a related field, and at least 3 years of professional experience in program development and/or management. They must have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as experience in grant writing and sustainability initiatives. Furthermore, the candidate must possess a positive and professional attitude, an understanding of urban sustainability, and a commitment to creating a more sustainable future. Responsibilities: -Develop and manage a comprehensive recycling program for the City of St. Louis. -Write grants to acquire funding for program initiatives. -Manage sustainability initiatives and promote environmental awareness. -Develop and implement effective strategies to increase public participation in the program. -Maintain accurate records of program progress, activities, and results. -Collaborate with other city departments, local businesses, and community groups to ensure program success. -Participate in professional development seminars and workshops to stay current on industry trends. -Provide timely reports to the city council and other stakeholders. -Monitor program budgets, expenditures, and deadlines. -Advocate for the program’s interests and goals.
