Job Description

Are you looking for a rewarding and meaningful career with the City of St. Louis? We are currently seeking an experienced Correctional Officer to join our team. As a Correctional Officer, you will be responsible for providing safety and security to the staff and inmates of the City of St. Louis. You will also be responsible for the supervision of inmates, making sure they follow established rules and regulations and will be expected to maintain a professional demeanor at all times.The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of two years of experience working in a correctional setting, a valid driver's license and a high school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of the laws, regulations and procedures related to the custody and care of inmates is a must. You must also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, a professional demeanor and the ability to maintain composure and take decisive action in stressful situations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide safety and security to staff and inmates of the City of St. Louis.
  2. Supervise inmates and ensure they follow established rules and regulations.
  3. Maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  4. Possess a minimum of two years of experience working in a correctional setting.
