1. Oversee and manage the Building and Code Enforcement Division within the City of Santa Rosa.
2. Ensure that all buildings and structures in the city meet safety and code compliance measures.
3. Develop and implement policies and procedures to effectively enforce building codes and regulations.
4. Lead a team of building inspectors and code enforcement officers, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective operations.
5. Conduct regular inspections and assessments of buildings and structures to identify and address potential safety hazards.
6. Collaborate with other city departments, as well as state and federal agencies, to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.
7. Keep up-to-date with changes in building codes and regulations and implement necessary updates to ensure compliance.
8. Investigate and resolve complaints related to building code violations, taking appropriate enforcement action when necessary.
9. Provide guidance and assistance to developers, contractors, and homeowners on building code requirements and procedures.
10. Represent the city at public meetings and hearings related to building code enforcement.
11. Monitor and manage the division's budget and resources in a responsible manner.
12. Foster a positive and collaborative work culture within the division.
13. Develop and maintain positive relationships with community stakeholders, promoting a safe and thriving environment for all residents.
14. Serve as a role model for ethical and professional behavior, consistently upholding the city's values and standards.
