- Operate and maintain water production and treatment plants to ensure the delivery of safe and high-quality drinking water to the community of Santa Monica.
- Monitor and adjust the treatment process to maintain optimal water quality and meet regulatory standards.
- Conduct routine inspections and tests of equipment and processes, and promptly address any issues to ensure uninterrupted water production.
- Operate and maintain pumps, valves, and other equipment used in the treatment and distribution of water.
- Maintain accurate records and logs of plant operations, including water quality data, equipment maintenance, and chemical usage.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any equipment malfunctions or process deviations to minimize downtime and maintain efficient operations.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations, including the handling and storage of chemicals and operation of heavy machinery.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to identify and implement process improvements to enhance plant efficiency and productivity.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to stay updated on industry best practices and regulations.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Educational Requirement For A Water Production And Treatment Plant Operator At City Of Santa Monica Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge To Perform The Duties Of The Job.
