
Risk Manager

- Develop and implement risk management strategies and policies that align with the City's overall objectives and goals.
- Conduct risk assessments and identify potential areas of vulnerability within the organization.
- Collaborate with department heads and staff to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Maintain and update the City's risk management plan, including reviewing and updating policies and procedures.
- Monitor and analyze insurance coverage and make recommendations for necessary adjustments.
- Conduct investigations and analyze data to identify root causes of potential risks and develop solutions to prevent future occurrences.
- Prepare and present reports to senior management and City officials on risk management issues and recommendations.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to risk management.
- Communicate and educate staff on risk management policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Develop and maintain relationships with insurance providers, brokers, and other external stakeholders.
- Oversee the City's insurance claims process and work with insurance providers to ensure timely and accurate resolution.
- Collaborate with legal counsel as needed to address risk-related legal matters.
- Train and supervise risk management staff to ensure efficient and effective risk management practices.
- Participate in emergency preparedness and response planning to mitigate potential risks to the City and its residents.
- Serve as a liaison between the City and external agencies, such as auditors and regulatory bodies, on risk management matters.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management strategies and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation related to risk management activities.
- Foster a culture of risk awareness and prevention throughout the organization.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by senior management.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Risk Management, Preferably In A Municipal Government Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Laws And Regulations Related To Risk Management, Insurance, And Loss Prevention.
Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Identify Potential Risks And Develop Effective Risk Mitigation Strategies.
Professional Certifications Such As Certified Risk Manager (Crm) Or Associate In Risk Management (Arm) Are Highly Desired.
