• Develop and implement a variety of recreational programs and activities for community members of all ages and abilities
• Plan and execute special events and community gatherings, including coordinating logistics, securing necessary resources, and promoting the events to the community
• Hire, train, and supervise a team of staff and volunteers to assist with program implementation and event coordination
• Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all participants, ensuring that all activities and facilities comply with safety regulations and standards
• Collaborate with other city departments, community organizations, and local businesses to enhance recreational offerings and promote community engagement
• Communicate effectively with community members, providing information and assistance regarding programs, events, and services offered by the City of Santa Clara
• Keep accurate records of program participation, budget expenditures, and other relevant data to assist with program evaluation and future planning
• Continuously seek out new and innovative ways to engage community members and promote an active and healthy lifestyle
• Attend meetings and trainings as required to stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in recreation management
• Serve as a positive role model and ambassador for the City of Santa Clara, representing our values and commitment to community service.
