2. Determine the priority level of each call and dispatch appropriate emergency services, including police, fire, and medical units.
3. Monitor and track the location and status of emergency responders to ensure timely and effective response.
4. Communicate with emergency personnel and provide updates and additional information as needed.
5. Operate and maintain communication equipment, including radios, telephones, and computer systems.
6. Prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment, making quick and effective decisions.
7. Provide pre-arrival medical instructions to callers in emergency situations.
8. Remain calm and professional while handling high-stress situations and difficult callers.
9. Keep accurate records of all calls and dispatch actions, including relevant details and time stamps.
10. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with department policies.
11. Monitor and respond to alarm systems and other emergency notification systems.
12. Collaborate with other agencies and departments to coordinate emergency response efforts.
13. Stay up-to-date on department policies, procedures, and resources related to emergency response.
14. Participate in training and development programs to maintain and improve job skills and knowledge.
15. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
16. Provide excellent customer service to callers and members of the community.
17. Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel.
18. Assist with administrative tasks and other duties as assigned by supervisors.
