- Collaborate with various stakeholders including city officials, community leaders, and residents to identify and prioritize community needs and develop effective solutions.
- Lead and manage a team of community development professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure the success of projects and initiatives.
- Develop and manage budgets for community development projects and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Stay updated on current trends and best practices in community development to ensure the city is utilizing the most effective strategies.
- Foster strong relationships with external organizations and agencies to leverage resources and partnerships for community development projects.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including presenting to city council and other public forums, to share updates, progress, and solicit feedback.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to community development.
- Collaborate with other city departments to ensure alignment and integration of community development plans with overall city goals and objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate the success of community development projects and initiatives, and make adjustments as needed to ensure their effectiveness.
- Represent the city in local, regional, and state level meetings and events related to community development.
- Promote a positive and inclusive work environment that values diversity and encourages teamwork and collaboration.
- Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and innovation in community development processes and practices.
- Serve as a role model for the city's values and principles, demonstrating a strong commitment to building thriving communities.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Urban Planning, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Community Development, Preferably In A Municipal Or Government Setting.
Strong Leadership And Management Skills, With The Ability To Oversee And Direct A Team Of Professionals.
In-Depth Knowledge Of Local, State, And Federal Laws And Regulations Related To Community Development And Land Use.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate And Build Relationships With Community Stakeholders, Elected Officials, And Department Staff.
