- Perform routine maintenance tasks on city buildings and facilities, including but not limited to cleaning, repairing, and painting.
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings and report any damages or issues to the appropriate supervisor.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure that all maintenance work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders and inventory of supplies.
- Collaborate with other city departments and external contractors as needed to complete maintenance projects.
- Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform basic repairs or coordinate with specialized technicians.
- Monitor building systems and report any malfunctions or inefficiencies to the appropriate department.
- Assist with snow and ice removal during winter months.
- Uphold the city's standards of cleanliness and appearance in all maintenance work.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Ged Is Required For This Position To Demonstrate Basic Education And Knowledge.
Previous Maintenance Experience: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In Building Maintenance, Preferably In A Municipal Or Commercial Setting.
Knowledge Of Building Systems: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Working Knowledge Of Hvac, Plumbing, Electrical, And Other Building Systems To Troubleshoot And Make Repairs As Needed.
Physical Ability: This Job Requires Physical Labor Such As Lifting, Bending, And Standing For Extended Periods Of Time. Applicants Must Be Able To Meet The Physical Demands Of The Job.
Strong Communication Skills: Building Maintenance Workers Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Other Employees And Members Of The Public. Written Communication Skills And The Ability To Follow Oral And Written Instructions Are Essential.
