
Recreation Specialist

- Monitor program participation and make necessary adjustments to ensure maximum engagement.
- Provide excellent customer service to all participants and address any concerns or issues that may arise.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to program participation, budget, and resources.
- Stay up-to-date on current trends and best practices in the field of recreation and leisure services.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during recreational activities.
- Train and supervise volunteers and staff members to assist with program implementation.
- Collaborate with community members to identify and address their recreational needs and interests.
- Assist with budget planning and management for recreation programs.
- Attend meetings and trainings to stay informed about department policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Regularly evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
- Uphold and promote the values and mission of the City of San Mateo in all aspects of the job.
Bachelor's Degree In Recreation Management, Leisure Studies, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Planning, Coordinating, And Implementing Recreation Programs And Activities.
Knowledge Of Local Community Resources And Ability To Establish And Maintain Partnerships With Other Organizations.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Diverse Groups Of Individuals And Promote Community Engagement.
Cpr And First Aid Certification, As Well As A Valid Driver's License And Clean Driving Record.
