- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and lessons that promote cognitive, physical, social, and emotional growth for children in our care.
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and explore.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers to provide updates on their child's progress and any concerns.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and positive learning environment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of attendance, behavior, and developmental milestones.
- Adapt teaching methods and strategies to meet the individual needs of each child.
- Foster a love for learning by incorporating fun and engaging activities into daily lesson plans.
- Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times.
- Continuously assess and evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum and make necessary adjustments.
- Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in early childhood education.
- Serve as a positive role model for children and maintain a professional and positive attitude at all times.
- Uphold the values and standards of the City of San Luis Obispo and the childcare program.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations and guidelines for childcare facilities.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
- Act as a liaison between parents, children, and the program, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent, With A Preference For Candidates With An Associate's Or Bachelor's Degree In Early Childhood Education Or A Related Field.
At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working With Young Children In A Licensed Childcare Setting.
Current Cpr And First Aid Certification.
Knowledge Of Child Development And Age-Appropriate Educational Practices.
Ability To Pass A Thorough Background Check And Obtain Required Immunizations.
