As a Senior GIS Specialist, you will play a crucial role in analyzing, designing, and implementing GIS solutions to meet the needs of our diverse community.   1. Develop and maintain GIS databases and applications to support city-wide operations and decision-making processes.
  2. Identify and analyze complex GIS problems and develop innovative solutions to improve city services and infrastructure.
  3. Collaborate with multiple departments and stakeholders to understand their GIS needs and provide technical support and guidance.
  4. Provide training and support to staff in utilizing GIS tools and data for their specific needs.
  5. Conduct data analysis and create visualizations to support decision-making processes and communicate information to stakeholders.
  6. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in GIS technology to continuously improve and enhance city-wide GIS systems.
  7. Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of GIS data and systems.
  8. Develop and implement standards, policies, and procedures for GIS data and applications.
  9. Manage and coordinate GIS projects, including budgeting, timelines, and resources.
  10. Act as a subject matter expert and provide guidance and advice on GIS-related matters to city officials and departments.
  11. Collaborate with external agencies and partners to share and acquire GIS data and promote interdepartmental data sharing.
  12. Participate in the development and maintenance of the city's GIS strategic plan.
  13. Mentor and provide guidance to junior GIS staff.
  14. Continuously evaluate and improve GIS processes and workflows to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  15. Represent the city at GIS conferences, workshops, and other events to stay informed and share knowledge with the GIS community.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Computer Science, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Professional Experience In Gis Analysis, Database Management, And Project Management.

  • Proficiency In Esri Arcgis Software And Other Gis-Related Tools And Technologies.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Interpret Complex Data And Develop Innovative Solutions.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Diverse Team And Effectively Communicate Technical Information To Non-Technical Stakeholders.
