  1. Develop and implement a wide range of recreational programs and events for individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
  2. Collaborate with community organizations, schools, and other city departments to plan and coordinate recreational activities.
  3. Promote and advertise recreational programs and events through various channels such as social media, flyers, and community outreach.
  4. Utilize creativity to develop new and innovative program ideas that cater to the diverse interests and needs of the community.
  5. Manage program budgets and resources effectively, ensuring that programs are cost-efficient and accessible to all residents.
  6. Train and supervise a team of staff and volunteers to assist with program implementation and event coordination.
  7. Maintain accurate records and data related to program attendance, feedback, and budget expenditures.
  8. Evaluate program success and make necessary adjustments to improve program quality and meet community needs.
  9. Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and community members to address concerns and provide information about programs and events.
  10. Ensure all programs and events adhere to safety guidelines and city policies.
  11. Serve as a positive role model for participants and promote a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  12. Stay informed about current trends and best practices in the field of recreation and incorporate them into program planning and implementation.
  13. Attend meetings and training sessions as required to stay updated on city policies and procedures.
  14. Continuously seek opportunities to engage with and gather feedback from community members to improve programs and events.
  15. Support the overall mission and goals of the City of San Jose in promoting healthy and active lifestyles for all residents.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Recreation Management, Leisure Studies, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Developing And Implementing Recreation Programs.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills.
