1. Plan, organize, and lead a variety of recreational programs and events for individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
2. Develop and implement engaging and inclusive activities that promote physical, social, and emotional well-being.
3. Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants, ensuring that everyone feels safe and respected.
4. Communicate effectively with staff, participants, and community members to promote programs and events and gather feedback.
5. Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments to ensure a high-quality experience for participants.
6. Maintain accurate program records and reports, including attendance, evaluations, and incident reports.
7. Assist with budget planning and management, including purchasing necessary supplies and equipment.
8. Collaborate with other departments and community organizations to coordinate and promote joint programs and events.
9. Provide support and guidance to volunteers and part-time staff, ensuring that they are following proper protocols and procedures.
10. Uphold and enforce all safety regulations and policies to ensure the well-being of participants and staff.
11. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in recreational programming to continually improve and enhance offerings.

14. Represent the City of San Jose and the Recreation Department in a professional and positive manner at all times.
