  1. Manage financial operations of the Energy Department, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  2. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  3. Provide strategic financial guidance and recommendations to department leadership.
  4. Collaborate with other departments and external stakeholders to develop and implement financial strategies.
  5. Monitor and analyze financial data to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
  6. Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  7. Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to financial management.
  8. Prepare financial statements and reports for department leadership, city officials, and regulatory agencies.
  9. Conduct audits and other reviews to ensure the integrity of financial data and compliance with established procedures.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in accounting, finance, and energy to inform decision making.
  11. Represent the Energy Department in meetings and discussions related to financial matters.
  12. Collaborate with external auditors and assist with the preparation of audit materials.
  13. Proactively identify and resolve financial issues and provide recommendations for process improvements.
  14. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive financial information.
  15. Act as a liaison between the Energy Department and other city departments, as well as external partners and vendors.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Or A Related Field.

  • Certified Public Accountant (Cpa) Designation.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Accounting, With At Least 3 Years In The Energy Industry.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Gaap And Financial Reporting For Energy Organizations.

  • Experience Managing And Leading A Team Of Accountants And Financial Analysts.
