As a Development Officer, you will play a critical role in managing the city's assets and ensuring their long-term sustainability.   1. Develop and implement strategic asset management plans to ensure the long-term sustainability of the city's assets.
  2. Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing assets and identify areas for improvement or potential risks.
  3. Conduct thorough analysis of data and financial reports to inform asset management decisions.
  4. Collaborate with other city departments and stakeholders to ensure alignment and efficient use of resources.
  5. Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and trends in asset management to continuously improve processes and procedures.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors to support asset management efforts.
  7. Communicate effectively with city officials, community members, and other stakeholders to provide updates on asset management initiatives and address any concerns or questions.
  8. Manage and maintain accurate records and documentation related to asset management activities.
  9. Identify and secure funding opportunities for asset management projects and initiatives.
  10. Lead and/or participate in cross-functional teams to achieve asset management goals and objectives.
  11. Identify and implement strategies for cost savings and efficiency improvements in asset management processes.
  12. Keep track of and ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to asset management.
  13. Develop and deliver presentations and reports to senior management and other stakeholders regarding the status and progress of asset management initiatives.
  14. Mentor and train other members of the asset management team to develop their skills and knowledge.
  15. Uphold the values and mission of the City of San Jose and promote a positive image of the organization.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Business Administration, Finance, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Asset Management, Real Estate Development, Or Related Field.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Real Estate Finance, Including Budgeting, Forecasting, And Financial Analysis.

  • Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills, With The Ability To Build And Maintain Relationships With Stakeholders.

  • Experience In Project Management And Proven Ability To Successfully Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously.
