- Conduct building and infrastructure inspections to ensure compliance with city codes and regulations.
- Review and approve building plans and permits for construction projects.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure coordination and compliance of development projects.
- Investigate and resolve complaints related to building and code violations.
- Conduct research and analysis to support decision-making and policy development.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to other staff members and stakeholders.
- Prepare and present reports and recommendations to department heads and city officials.
- Stay updated on industry standards and best practices to continuously improve processes and procedures.
- Respond to inquiries and concerns from the public regarding building and code enforcement.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all activities and project progress.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new policies and procedures related to building and code enforcement.
- Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of engineering.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while conducting inspections and other job duties.
- Represent the department and the city at meetings, conferences, and other events.
- Uphold the city's values of innovation, diversity, and community in all job responsibilities.
Bachelor's Degree In Civil Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Planning, Building, Or Code Enforcement, Preferably In A Municipal Government Setting.
Knowledge Of Local, State, And Federal Regulations Related To Planning, Building, And Code Enforcement.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Interpret And Apply Complex Codes And Regulations.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Various Stakeholders And Communicate Technical Information To Non-Technical Audiences.
